We are such fans of the Potted Boxwood and the classic, dignified content you cover, and produce - how did the blog come to be? Well, I was a 6th grader hoarding copies of Southern Accents in my nightstand haha. Needless to say, The Potted Boxwood felt like a natural extension of my personality and upbringing. I started the blog in grad school as a creative outlet for all things chic. I wanted to share the charming allure of older Dallas homes, timeless interior designers, luxury travel, and beautiful ways to entertain. Without realizing it, I created a brand. It's really taken on a life of it's own!

Tell us a bit about your approach to setting a table! When I set a table, I automatically think about the overall aesthetic I want for that moment and I always do it the day before! A tablescape has the power to change any environment and set the tone for the evening. The more candles, patterns, and flowers- the better. If there are more than 5 guests, I always like to use placecards. Also, I think it helps to add one unique element of surprise to a table. For instance, I threw a baby shower for a close friend and each placecard had the meaning of the name written below the guest's name. It made for a fun conversation starter.

Do you have a favorite India Amory print? All of the new patterns are so gorgeous! I am especially fond of the new Mugal Jardin print, but the classic vine prints work for any and every entertaining celebration.

Dream location for a home and why? On the east coast, I love Litchfield County in Connecticut for the discreetly chic charm. On the west coast, I love Santa Barbara for the laid-back and lush coastal lifestyle.

Current must have beauty products for summer? Sconset tinted face sunscreen. It has a great texture and just the right amount of tint. It's clean too! The Cream by Augustinus Bader- it's expensive, but so are wrinkles. Heretic dirty jasmine perfume- I find jasmine to be so intoxicating, and this has just the right amount of spice to it!

What investment piece of clothing or decor would you consider a necessity? Cashmere wraps, oriental rugs, and quality upholstery (a cheaply upholstered sofa can ruin an entire room).

Favorite china pattern for special occasion and favorite pattern for everyday? For a special occasion, I will always love Minton Cockatrice in pink (used in my last Easter tablescape with my India Amory tabelcloth). For everyday, I always gravitate towards Tory Burch's white lettuceware.

3 top tips to ensure a successful dinner party? Never let a glass go empty, have lots of candles to set the ambience, and no mention or attempt of clean-up before your last guest leaves!

What's next for The Potted Boxwood? Whatever beautiful home is around the corner, as well as more ways to shop, more luxury travel reviews, and of course- more tablescapes!
